Impressions from the Health Day on 07.11.2024
This year's Mental Health Day took place on November 7 in the Aula Academica under the motto “Mental Health Day - stress out, well-being in”. The event was dedicated to mental health in the workplace and aimed to provide employees with helpful tips and methods for dealing with stress and strain in everyday working life.
Health Day was a good opportunity to remember the importance of health and wellbeing and to take action to strengthen mental health.
Mental health is an important part of our wellbeing and not just a by-product of our physical health. It encompasses our mental and emotional state and is crucial to our everyday lives.
The focus was on the presentation by Sabrina Liske-Dörnte (Techniker Krankenkasse) “Calm in the storm - resilience and mindfulness in everyday working life” and the workshop by Dr. Sebastian Sdrenka (Sportinstitut) “Developing mental strength - an approach based on the Heidelberg Competence Training (HKT)”. The screening modules from Techniker Krankenkasse were also well received, allowing employees to identify their stress levels or tension.
Inspired by the lecture, workshop or screening module, visitors to the Health Day were able to try out a variety of other offers to promote mental health, for example:
- Yoga and yin yoga in the domed hall
- Breathing exercises, brain fitness or acupressure
- Offers from the sports institute
- Prana healing
- Fascia training
- Laughter station
As a small highlight, we were visited by friendly alpacas, also known as the “dolphins of the Andes”, from Alpakahof Goslar, who also sponsored our coveted main prize of the stamp campaign - an alpaca hike.
We would like to thank all visitors for their participation and are already planning next year's Health Day!
